Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Review, Swatches!

Ever been afraid of using pink eyeshadow for fear of looking like you've got pink eye? The Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette gives you the chance of wearing the beautiful feminine shade without the social misconceptions! 

Being a fan of the original Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette, I jumped at the chance to get a hold of the 3rd installment of Urban Decay's palette series. The Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette is a pink and rose-theme of neutral shades that looks promising for the majority of skintones. Keep reading for more photos and swatches!

The Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette has 12 eyeshadows with varied matte, satin and shimmer finishes. It is housed in a somewhat clunky metal palette, I much preferred the velvet-coated cardboard original as it felt better and more solid in quality. This comes with a dual ended brush (pictured), which is somewhat useful on the go, but I still prefer my own picks for eyeshadow application. It was also advertised to contain samples of the much loved UD eyeshadow bases, but to my dismay I found sachets of eyeshadow base testers (come on UD - sachets - really?). Previous releases contained mini versions of the actual eyeshadow bases.

I suppose those can be seen as minor prints as the main attraction here are the eyeshadows themselves. Lets get on to the individual shades!

• Strange is a satin dusty white colour that's so-so for pigmentation. It is great on the browbone to blend out any harsh lines from the crease shadow. It is a good subtle highlight.
• Dust is a glittery shimmery light yellow pink. This is a beautiful shade for the eyelids.
• Burnout is a shimmery yellow pink. A little less glittery than dust.
• Limit is a pinkish neutral nude. This makes for a great crease colour.
• Buzz is a glittery rose gold.
• Trick is a shimmery tanned gold.
• Nooner is a pinkish neutral, a shade darker than Limit.
• Liar is a frosty pink-brown.
• Factory is a shimmery pinkish brown.
• Mugshot is a frosty golden taupe.
• Darkside is a shimmery brown-grey.
• Blackheart is a very dark brown base with red sparkles - they don't translate well when swatched, but will probably stand out more on top of a black base.

Overall, I do think this palette is good value for money and not to mention has gorgeous colours. The colours are on-trend for the upcoming spring with rosy hues. But for year-round wear, I do prefer the original Urban Decay Naked Palette however for its better versatility and the colours do look more stunning on olive skintones (such as yours truly's). The Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette will perhaps look better on those with fairer skins or with pink undertones. It's still a wonderful neutral palette nonetheless!
