Mark Hill Wild Waver Hot Wand Review

Hello! My name is Shivanee and this is my first post after joining my sister-in-law to be's blog. I accompanied her to the Mark Hill Hair company's recent event - which was fantastic - and I am reviewing some of the products they were showcasing. Mark Hill himself was on hand at the event to help out and show off his skills. This particular line is not available yet but should be out in time for your wishlist this Christmas.

Summer Beauty with Debenhams! #DebsBeautyBuzz

Last week, I was invited to the M.A.C BAFTA TV Mock-up Suite event held at the luxurious Corinthia Hotel. MAC Cosmetics is the Official Beauty Partner of the Arqiva British Academy Television Awards - 9th year running!, and MAC Senior Artist Cher Webb gave us a ‘camera ready’ beauty masterclass on this year's looks for the red carpet.

Cher created 2 looks for us:

The first look was a day-time glamour with beautiful radiant skin and light peach lips.

She used MAC Face and Body Foundation (one of my favourites) and the new MAC foundation/concealer palettes (coming soon! can't wait!!) to give a very natural-looking flawless base. For the eyesMAC Groundwork paint pot was applied on to the eyelids and lower lash line for some colour. MAC Arena eyeshadow (a shimmery natural peach) was dusted over it and, MAC Pro Longwear eye pencil in Lord It Up (brown) was smudged to the top and bottom lash lines. For the cheeks, a beautiful coral shade, MAC Something Special Cremeblend Blush was buffed high up the apples of the cheeks and MAC Pink Rebel Lustre Drops were added to highlight cheekbones. Lips were filled with Boldly Bare lip pencil and MAC To The Future Pro Longwear Lipcreme (the next product on my wishlist!). The look was finished with MAC Mineralised Skinfinish NaturalFalse Lash Mascara and False lashes.

The second look was the first transitioned into a more sultry chic look with a bold orange lip.

MAC Feline Eye Kohl (now permanent - finally - hurrah!) lined the top and bottom waterlines. MAC Make Your Mark Pro Longwear Eyeshadow was added all over the lids. MAC #3 lashes were added. Lips were lined with MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in What A Blast! and filled with MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Good To Go (must have shade for summer!).

Some notes:
Peach and orange tones are the trend this year! Both the light peach and bright orange lipsticks are must-haves this summer. I also have my eye on Something Special blush.
The MAC Pro Longwear range (as the name implies) offers a lot of long-wearing products. It's great not having to reapply so much especially during important busy occasions.
MAC To The Future Pro Longwear Lipcreme is soo beautiful, especially in person. It brightens up your face!
The ever-recurring limited edition super-black eye pencil, MAC Feline eye kohl, is now permanent!
Primers are important for a smooth application and longer-lasting makeup.
Natural-looking glowy dewy skin is in and super-flattering. I'll leave matte skin for the colder months.

Here are the new MAC foundation/concealer palettes. I actually don't know when these will be available, but I'm so excited for these! 4 palettes, for light to deep skin tones.

For the event, I opted for a simple smokey eye, glittery eyeliner with peach lips and cheeks.

A rare smiling FOTD photo - I'm actually pretty conscious about my teeth up close, hence the lack of these.

I took these photos when I got back home. I was more 'dewy' so I applied some MAC Blot Powder to decrease the shine. Another amazing MAC product!

Here are the products I used:

Eyes
MAC Painterly paint pot, MAC Eyeshadows in Vanilla (brow highlight), Ricepaper (lid, lower lash line)
NEW Sleek Makeup Dark Matte Palette (Ink - dark blue, crease)
Etude House Brow Pencil, Maybelline black eye pencil, MAC Avenue fluidline
Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara, Kiss False Lashes in KPL03

FACE
Makeup Forever HD Foundation, 17 Hide Away Concealer Stick in Fair
MAC Instant Chic blush, Sleek Makeup Peach Shimmer Highlighter, Benefit Hoola bronzer

LIPS
MAC Jazzed lipstick

MAC BAFTA Masterclass 2012 | Red Carpet Glamour

Last night I attended the well tweeted about ZOMG Bloggers Bash. It was an event in celebration of a collaboration between Zozo at TheLondonLipgloss and the retro lipstick brand Rockalily, their lipstick offspring called ZOMG. The event was held in a pub near Farringdon station, London, and it was a fab opportunity to meet a few of my favourite bloggers.

I also managed to check out the ZOMG lipstick, which is a creamy pigmented reddish pink. I didn't want to try it on myself as it has been already swatched and tested by so many bloggers before me, but at least you have the swatch. :)

There were several activities, including Make Your Own Cupcake thanks to Temptation's CreationsThere were also two burlesque performances. I know, a bit unusual! These were the first burlesque performances I have ever seen, and to be honest I felt quite weird and a little embarrassed watching the show lol. However, I especially loved Miss Banbury Cross's glitzy glamorous dance. She is the face of Rockalily and she is absolutely stunning! The night ended with a raffle draw by the two hosts, Zozo and ReeRee. Congratulations to everyone who won a prize!

There were so many bloggers at the event, and people quickly fell into little cliques. It was so nice meeting these ladies and I thank these lovelies for the wonderful time, I hope we see each other again soon.

And thank you once again to ReeRee and Zozo for inviting me to the event!

Neil, Livia, Lynsey

Last week I was invited to the MAC Style Suite Red Carpet Masterclass hosted by MAC senior artists Lynsey Alexander and Neil Young in association with Philips British Academy Television Awards 2011. This was held at the Pelham Hotel in South Kensington.

They shared their beauty tips for the Red Carpet and they gave us a tutorial for 2 very different looks on two beautiful models. Neil Young created a look with a Lip Focus and the Lynsey Alexander created a very pretty Neutral Sultry Smokey Eye.

Here are the face charts of both looks, with the products they used:

And the final results ~

They look so beautiful! Stunning especially in person. Although they were gorgeous already without all that makeup. Throughout the makeover, I couldn't stop thinking how the blonde one reminded me of Scarlett Johansson.

Of all the tips they shared, one trick that I never heard before was the use of nonsedating antihistamines to prevent any anticipated flushing of the skin! They recommend it to a lot of their clients and it apparently works and keeps redness at bay, whether it be due to heat or emotions. Pretty cool!

I really loved both looks, and they got me craving for new products. I'd love to pick up Mineralised Skin Finish Natural in Give Me Sun and Coffee pencilThank goodness I already have Show Orchid and Shy Girl, which they used for bright lip and nude lip respectively. These are gorgeous lippies, you should definitely try them!

Beauty Bloggers! That's me in white dress closest to the camera, and oh, that dress was from my dear sister by the way. She has great taste. You can visit her blog here!

There were quite a few beauty bloggers at the event, and it was so lovely to meet familiar faces from the beauty blogosphere.

They didn't let us leave empty handed, but what I got will be another post :)

The masterclass was very informative and I truly enjoyed it. Thank you MAC! ♥
