Last Friday, I searched high and low for the new Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipsticks. While limited testers were available to swatch at Selfridges, a kind MUA whispered and said the lipsticks were available to purchase from Fenwicks in New Bond Street and the flagship store in Covent Garden. Only 10 minutes walk from Selfridges, I landed in Fenwicks and I was greeted with the most friendly most helpful staff I have met in any high end beauty department.

A gorgeous tall blonde MUA came to my assistance as I swatched away at the individual lipsticks and instead of just purchasing 1 lipstick as I had planned, I left with two!

Now this was a pre-planned purchase. Finally a lipstick with my name on it that isn't too pale (Illamasqua!) nor too dark (NARS). Liv It Up is a nude pink with a creamy finish and a gentle pearl. It brightens up my NC30 complexion. Its the perfect colour for every day wear.

Now this I didn't expect to pick up. It is a bright coral red that brings out the natural pink ness of my cheeks. It is creamy modern matte and does have a bit of slip. I like dabbing on the lips and spreading with my finger to create a natural stain like finish. The colour is perfect for the summer and hence I ran with it!

Ccan I just talk about the edged tip of the lipstick bullet? It makes it so easy to define the lip line without requiring a pencil. Genius! However this edge does erode with use unfortunately. But its still a brilliant idea.

Lip Swatch: MAC Trust in Red Pro Longwear Lip Pencil Review and Swatches

MAC Ronnie Red lipstick from the MAC Archie's Girls collection is a bright bluish red lipstick with a creamy matte finish. It belongs to the Veronica line up.

Unlike some matte formulas, this one is quite creamy and not drying
- it does not feel like cling wrap on the lips!
It contains no shimmers.

I think this colour would look great on all skintones.

This colour is great for pin up looks - with black mascara and eyeliner, or paired with smokey gold or brown eye makeup!

MAC Ronnie Red Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches (Archie’s Girls)

MAC Pleasureseeker, Cut a Caper and Fire Sign Lipsticks
These 3 lipsticks from MAC were recently released in the MAC Heavenly Creatures Collection along with a bunch of mineralised products. 2 of the lipsticks featured are repromotes - Pleasureseeker lipstick was from the MAC Neo Sci Fi collection hence I have it in the hot orange packaging. Cut a Caper was first released in the MAC A Tartan Tale Collection

MAC Pleasureseeker Lipstick
This lipstick has a glaze formula. I find it to have the texture of a lustre, but with a slightly frosty finish. It is a pale peach with a cool bluish frost. The frost is not too much and I like the sheen it gives.

MAC Cut a Caper Lipstick
This lipstick has always been one of my favourites. It is a peachy pink shade with a slightly glossy lustre finish. I love lustres as they glide well onto my lips and are a bit moisturising.

MAC Fire Sign Lipstick
This pinky red is new to the Heavenly Creatures collection. It has a glossy lustre finish. I find that glossy red lips can appear a bit over the top for everyday use, so I usually blot it out with a tissue and it leaves a gorgeous just-bitten stain on the lips.

MAC Pleasureseeker, Cut a Caper and Fire Sign Lipsticks Review and Swatches

The anticipated MAC Hey Sailor collection is now available in the UK. It is this year's summer collection. To be honest, what drew me most into it was the packaging - it's been a while since MAC has come up with collections in special packaging!

But after having a closer look at the collection, there are actually a lot of really good items. I've picked up 3, but I'd love to get a 4th. But will see how it goes and whether my self-control will last until that product sells out from the shops!

Anyway, here is one of the products I picked up. It is MAC lipstick in Sail La Vie. I just love that name! Awesome pun. haha. This was the only lipstick in the new collection that stood out to me. I have too many reds so I skipped Red Racer lipstick. I don't tend to wear frosts anymore so I've ruled out To Catch a Sailor. I was hoping Salut! was a more peachy toned colour, but it actually looks more like a shade of foundation so I skipped that one too.

Sail la Vie is described as a mid-tone orange. For me, it looks a little more like burnt orange than mid-tone. It is definitely bright. It has gorgeous creamy, glide-on-your-lips opaque formula in a satin finish. It is not matte and it is not glossy like some amplified cremes. It leaves a bit of a stain on your lips - makes it more long-lasting.

Here it is with MAC Hibiscus lipstick from last year's summer collection.

While they are both bright demi-reds, Sail La Vie is more orange-toned while Hibiscus has more blue and pink tones in it. They are quite different, and I wouldn't call them 'dupes'.

This is such a gorgeous lipstick. Perfect for summer!
I l♥ve it!
