Looks: Gold

Hi everyone! For those of you who don't know, I bellydance! And here's a look I wore for a performance last Friday. My costume was yellow with yellow ish gems and I wanted to match it with golds and peaches. I wore MAC Wonder Woman Golden Lariat MSF on my cheeks, and I must say I really love it. Contour, Blush, and Highlight in one product! The peachy orange tone of the blush part reminds me so much of Stereo Rose MSF. I guess I should make a comparison post later. Keep reading for photos and what I used in the look!

As requested by lovely reader Yumiko, I made a makeup look using the new products I got, which I reviewed in this post. I used the MAC Colour 4 eyeshadow quad, the Benefit Hoola bronzer, and the MAC Ladyblush blush on lips and cheeks. I hope you like this look!

I did this pretty quick and simple look a few days ago. Here you can also see MAC Cut a Caper lipstick in action! Its not really a unique shade, but its one that I like nonetheless. Keep reading! ♥

LOOK: MAC Burmese Beauty Inspired~ ! ♥

Photobucket

In anticipation of the MAC Fabulous Felines collection due to come out this week in the UK, I have been contemplating whether or not I need the Leopard Luxe quad that has really caught my eye based on the online swatches. It just seems like a beautiful quad: a matte camel, a vibrant yellow-orange, a sparkly grey, and a taupe-like dark brown/black. I really want it, but I feel like the colours may be duped by eyeshadows I already have. And so with those existing colours in my collection, I came up with this look. Keep reading for what I used and more photos! ♥

LOOK: MAC Leopard Luxe Inspired~ ! ♥

Photobucket
Hi everyone! I'm sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been really busy with work and life + a little bit lazy with my blogging. For a while, blogging started to feel like a chore for me and decided I needed a bit of a break and actually blog when I want to (as opposed to feeling like I have to!). I meant to do this look ever since MAC Spring Colour Forecast came out (4 weeks ago!), but I never had the time. I'm on a short Easter break now, and I realise I haven't posted a LOOK in a long time. So here's my peach and pink look inspired by the Coral sub-collection in MAC Spring Colour Forecast! I think it looks sweet and good enough to eat lol. I hope you like it xxx

I used:

EYES
MAC Rubenesque paint pot (base)
MAC eyeshadows in Nanogold (highlight), Dear Cupcake (satin medium-pink, crease), Evening Aura (peachy gold, lid)
MAC Black Russian eye liner (black with sparkles, upper lashline)
MAC Fascinating eye kohl (white, waterline)
Maybelline Falsies Mascara - love! ♥
MAC Spiked brow pencil

FACE
MAC Select Moisturecover concealer
MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural
MAC Sun & Moon mineralized blush
MAC Pearl cream colour base

LIPS
MAC Mouth Off lip pencil (orange)
MAC Fresh Salmon lipstick (coral with gold sheen)

I really liked this look and the bf complimented me on it. When I do wear a full face of makeup, I usually go for dark and smokey makeup and not like this, but since I like the way this turned out, I think I'll try wearing brighter colours more often. ♥ What's your makeup style? ♥

I've also been sporting these green contacts since Spring started. They're Flex Wear Emotions, although I can't recall the shade name. I really like them. I had them in my stash for a while (sealed of course), but I just decided to whip them out when I saw the gorgeous Amanda Seyfriend on the cover of one of the recent magazines - Glamour I think?

As I said, I really like these green contacts but my bf seems to prefer me with my brown or blue lenses. What do you think? ♥

Do you like this look?? xx

I also got to check out the MAC Liberty of London collection last week, and my haul will be on my next post! :) x

LOOK: Peach and Pink - Inspired by MAC Spring Colour Forecast

I finally got to use the Maybelline products I bought in a complete fully made-up look, and I really like it. Although I thought there was quite a bit of fall out from the Maybelline eyeshadow, but since I did my eyes first before my face makeup, I was able to clean up a bit. This look is a great one to do for everyday! I hope you like it xx

I used:

EYES
MAC Soft Ochre (yellow beige) paint pot & Cuddle (shimmery gold) Shadestick (on lid as base)
Maybelline eyeshadow in Sparkling Gold (lid)
MAC eyeshadow in Mulled Cider (warm midtone brown) (crease)
MAC MSFN in Medium Dark & Pearl CCB (highlight)
Maybelline eye kohl in Brown Gleam (bronze)
L'oreal Primer & Maybelline Mascara (usual)
MAC Spiked brow pencil

FACE
MAC Select Moisturecover Concealer
MAC MSFN Medium & Medium Dark
MAC Dainty (pale peachy pink) mineralized blush
MAC Pearl CCB highlight

LIPS
Bobbi Brown lip pencil in Posey
MAC Feeling Dreamy lipglass

I love how shimmery the Maybelline gold eyeshadow is - it really is a Sparkling Gold! And it looks so good on top of MAC Cuddle shadestick too. ♥

What do you think? Do you like it? ♥

LOOK: Golds and Browns - New Moon inspired FOTD

I haven't posted any looks in ages! I apologize for that, its just because I've been so busy with school projects and revision. But here's my second look using Sleek eyeshadows, the first one being here. I used the Sleek Sunset palette for this look - it really is my favourite Sleek palette. Anyway, I hope you like it! Keep reading for more pics and the items I used xx

I used:

EYES
MAC Bare Study paint pot - on entire lid as base
MAC Vanilla eyeshadow - brow highlight
Sleek Sunset palette - yellow (lid) + dark burgundy/brown (crease)
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Bourbon (lower lash line)
MAC Nightsky softsparkle pencil (upper lash line)
L'oreal Double Lash extension mascara with serum inside (lash primer only)
Maybelline Collosal Volume mascara (on top of lash primer, I love this mascara! Review will come shortly xx)
MAC Lingering Brow Pencil

FACE
MAC Select Moisturecover concealer in NW20 (undereyes) & NC30 (spots)
MAC MSF Natural in Medium & Medium Dark (contour)
MAC Superdupernatural mineralized blush
MAC Pearl cream colour base (highlight)

LIPS
MAC Pink Cabana lipstick (MAC really should repromote this!)
MAC Mimmy lipgloss (from Hello Kitty collection)

The Sleek mineralize eyeshadows are really soft but prone to fall out, which is why I did my eyes first, followed by face makeup. This allows me to clean up any excess eyeshadow fallout on my face in between. This tip is also good to use when using dark eyeshadows. =)

I based this look on the Phiff! face chart by MAC, and then I realised the colours I used were similar to those on the look I had on my makeover! ♥

I hope you enjoyed this look!

LOOK: Gold, Bronze & Coral

I had my first ever MAC makeover for the Boat Party I attended last Thursday. I know, I've been into MAC for two years, and I still haven't had one till then! The holiday collection was released in the UK on Thursday as well, so it was good timing to have a look at the products and get made up.

I went to the MAC Pro store at Carnaby St in London. I now frequent that place since it has a bit more products than the other non-pro shops, and its really near where I live at the moment. I booked my appointment on Wednesday, and had the makeover on Thursday by the lovely makeup artist, Monnie. I was wearing white because of the dress code, and I wanted to go for a bronzed sweet yet still sultry look. I told Monnie what I wanted and she gave it a go!

What she used on myself ~ all MAC!

FACE
Oil Control Lotion + Face & Body Foundation in C3 - I just love the F&B foundation! I'd like to buy this. Gives such a natural looking coverage
Select Cover Up Concealer in NC30 - for spots
Select Moisturecover Concealer in NW20 - for undereye circles
MSF Natural in Medium Plus - I'm getting this when I run out of medium!
Golden Bronzer - all over
Margin blush
Pearl CCB - I want this too! To highlight the bridge of my nose and cheeks.

EYES
Mystery eyeshadow - for brows
Rubenesque paint pot
Mayhem mineralized eyeshadow - lid
Antiqued eyeshadow - crease
Shroom eyeshadow - highlight
Blacktrack fluidline - lining upper lashline
No. 7 lashes - my first MAC lashes!! The quality is a lot better than the cheapo ones I've been buying, they feel so much lighter and look more natural. I'm really gutted though that one of them was ruined somehow when I took it off :'(
Zoomblack mascara for lower lashes

LIPS
Subculture lip liner - This colour really matches my lips! She applied it all over my lips to even out the colour
Baby Sparks dazzleglass - The perfect sparkly baby pink.

Monnie & Me

My personalised face chart!

At the boat party

The boat party was quite fun! Although I was expecting to see fireworks since it was Guy Fawkes night - 5th Nov, and there weren't any :( Oh well.

Based on these pics, I think I'm liking MACs Face and Body Foundation. It looks good in photos! I might purchase this when I manage to save up more money, and maybe at the Heathrow airport where its tax-free. Pearl cream colour base looks great too.. Haai. So many lemmings, so little money lol. I think the makeup artist did a great job; the bf reported no eyeshadow creasing at the end of the party! Amazing. haha. However, the whole application took about one and a half hours. Way too long lol.

Thanks to my sister for the dress! She got it for me from Forever 21 when she was at San Diego, California xxx Slightly loose on the sides so I added a belt for a better fit. :)

I hope you enjoyed this post!! Thanks for reading!! ♥

LOOK: Antiqued Gold & My FIRST MAC Makeover!!

This look, again, was inspired by a Face Chart from MAC's Makeup Art Cosmetics collection. The face chart had yellow and green on the lid, and a bright blue on the lower lash line which is a colour I unfortunately do not have in my makeup stash at the moment. I decided to replace it with a *much* darker blue, and it seemed to work well.

I've also found my love for sponge tip applicators. They are amaazing when it comes to depositing colour! I used to hate them since I'd often see some *really old* sponge tips gone brittle lying around the house and that made me turn away from using them. However I got curious and tried them, and boy was I amazed!

ANYWAY back to my look, here's what I used:

EYES
MAC Soft Ochre (yellow toned base) paint pot over entire lid + browbone
MAC Femme Fi (whitish gold), Goldmine (yellow gold), Humid (dark green) and Freshwater (medium blue) eyeshadows
Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Zero (black)
MAC Blacktrack fluidline
Falsies

FACE
Dermablend concealer for undereyes
MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in Medium (beige) and Medium Dark (caramel)
MAC Refined Golden bronzer to contour
MAC Hipness blush on apples of cheeks
MAC Femme Fi eyeshadow to highlight

LIPS
Estee Lauder Tawny lip liner
MAC Party Mate lipstick (hot pink with sparkles)
MAC Snowscene lipglass (white with white, red and turquoise sparkles) on center of lips

So... what do you think? ♥
