| Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipsticks Liv It Up, Electric Poppy Review Swatches |
Last Friday, I searched high and low for the new Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipsticks. While limited testers were available to swatch at Selfridges, a kind MUA whispered and said the lipsticks were available to purchase from Fenwicks in New Bond Street and the flagship store in Covent Garden. Only 10 minutes walk from Selfridges, I landed in Fenwicks and I was greeted with the most friendly most helpful staff I have met in any high end beauty department.
A gorgeous tall blonde MUA came to my assistance as I swatched away at the individual lipsticks and instead of just purchasing 1 lipstick as I had planned, I left with two!
Now this was a pre-planned purchase. Finally a lipstick with my name on it that isn't too pale (Illamasqua!) nor too dark (NARS). Liv It Up is a nude pink with a creamy finish and a gentle pearl. It brightens up my NC30 complexion. Its the perfect colour for every day wear.
Now this I didn't expect to pick up. It is a bright coral red that brings out the natural pink ness of my cheeks. It is creamy modern matte and does have a bit of slip. I like dabbing on the lips and spreading with my finger to create a natural stain like finish. The colour is perfect for the summer and hence I ran with it!
Ccan I just talk about the edged tip of the lipstick bullet? It makes it so easy to define the lip line without requiring a pencil. Genius! However this edge does erode with use unfortunately. But its still a brilliant idea.
The Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipsticks are available online, flagship store, Fenwicks in New Bond Street and Selfridges from today 4th July 2016.

The anticipated MAC Hey Sailor collection is now available in the UK. It is this year's summer collection. To be honest, what drew me most into it was the packaging - it's been a while since MAC has come up with collections in special packaging!

But after having a closer look at the collection, there are actually a lot of really good items. I've picked up 3, but I'd love to get a 4th. But will see how it goes and whether my self-control will last until that product sells out from the shops!

Anyway, here is one of the products I picked up. It is MAC lipstick in Sail La Vie. I just love that name! Awesome pun. haha. This was the only lipstick in the new collection that stood out to me. I have too many reds so I skipped Red Racer lipstick. I don't tend to wear frosts anymore so I've ruled out To Catch a Sailor. I was hoping Salut! was a more peachy toned colour, but it actually looks more like a shade of foundation so I skipped that one too.
Sail la Vie is described as a mid-tone orange. For me, it looks a little more like burnt orange than mid-tone. It is definitely bright. It has gorgeous creamy, glide-on-your-lips opaque formula in a satin finish. It is not matte and it is not glossy like some amplified cremes. It leaves a bit of a stain on your lips - makes it more long-lasting.

Here it is with MAC Hibiscus lipstick from last year's summer collection.

While they are both bright demi-reds, Sail La Vie is more orange-toned while Hibiscus has more blue and pink tones in it. They are quite different, and I wouldn't call them 'dupes'.

This is such a gorgeous lipstick. Perfect for summer! I l♥ve it!
Available from your local MAC Store or the website. While stocks last!

WARNING: PICTURE-HEAVY POST!
Over the last year, I have accumulated a few Sleek MakeUP True Colour lipsticks. These are richly pigmented lipsticks that come in an affordable price. There are so many shades to choose from (20+) and they come in a variety of finishes - I have a few matte and sheen lipsticks. I also love the packaging, so sleek. *no pun intended!* They come in small black easy-grip plastic containers that don't look at all cheap. They are pretty light and easy to carry around.

Lip Lover is a bright red that screams RETRO!! to me, and I love this look. The colour itself reminds me so much of MAC's Powerhouse lipstick, which I adore. It is well pigmented and glides on your lips like a dream. It does not dry my lips out. The finish itself seems similar to a MAC amplified cream lipstick. One thing that makes this product stand out from the other red lipsticks I've tried however (including MAC) is how it doesn't stain my teeth when I smile! I don't know how it does this, since it is not transfer-resistant at all. This lipstick seems pretty long lasting on too. Like most red lipsticks, it leaves a stain on your lips as the day goes by. If you don't eat your lips like I do, this is sure to last you at least half a day! (without eating meals at least).
Although its in pencil form, you don't need to worry about sharpening it at all. You just need to twist it up to get more product.
I really love this Liptastik pen, and I encourage you to at least try it out. You can purchase it from eyeko.com, and please use my code e11109 for a free gift! It is also available in a rosy pink colour called Loud Mouth, which might also be good to try. I wish eyeko had more colours though, I would love a coral one or a deep vampy red one! ♥
What do you think? Would you like to try this out? ♥
The item featured in this post was provided for review consideration by PR, but as always, this review is honest and my own. ♥

This is MAC Powerhouse lipstick. It's one of my first ever MAC lipsticks, and sadly its been discontinued. It has a creamy and opaque amplified cream finish. ♥

Hi everyone!! My first exam is in the end of the week, and if you have an idea of what med-school is like, well one week of revision is not enough! And that is why I haven't been posting much lately, since I've been studying last week. Although two weeks of work isn't enough either, I'm trying my best lol. Thank you everyone for the good luck wishes! I hope this week goes well for you all. Here's a lip swatch of one of the most gorgeous lipsticks I've ever had my lips on! :) xx

I've regretted not buying So Scarlet lipstick when the MAC Cult of Cherry collection was out, so when I finally found it for a good price on eBay I decided to grab it. MAC So Scarlet an amazing red lipstick. A dark (but not too dark!) blue-based red lipstick, with a creamy amplified creme finish. It is gorgeous, probably one of the best red lipsticks in my collection (along with Russian Red of-course)!
For a product picture, a swatch, and some ramblings, read the rest of the post!

Do you have this lipstick?
Would you wear this shade? ♥
And oh, I just had a peek at the swatches of the upcoming MAC in Lillyland collection! (and I'm dying inside lol) There's just so many pretty stuff coming out, and I'll have trouble choosing! I really want to get Resort Life lipgelee, and 3 cremeblend blushes: So Sweet So Easy, Joie-de-Vivre and Florida - and you can even use these on your lips! But MAC costs precious money too which is why I'm a bit :( about it. Ah well. The new MAC collection doesn't come out in the UK for another 2 weeks so I hope I'll be able to save a bit.
Have any of you checked out the MAC in Lillyland collection yet? ♥

MAC MSFN in Medium & Medium Dark
MAC Hipness blush (coral)
MAC Pearl cream colour base (champagne, highlight)
EYES
MAC Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral, base)

Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Bourbon (brown with sparkles)
Maybelline Collosal Volume Mascara

Cherry Chapstick ♥

So when I got back to my place, I found the package, got changed into my home clothes (an oversized grey t-shirt & shorts), and quickly opened the present. And this is what I got~

Hourglass Extreme Shine Lip gloss in Siren
Such a shimmery and well-pigmented red gloss! It comes with a brush applicator, easy to apply, and smells of vanilla. It is GORGEOUS!! I immediately put it on, and here's the lip swatch:

Sorry the swatch is a bit messy, I was too excited & didn't think of retouching! I had Maybelline lip liner in Red Diva to line my lips. You should always do that with red lipsticks/red gloss!
The gloss is soo soo hot! It made me feel so good even in my home clothes lol ♥

This lipgloss should definitely NOT be missed. I highly recommend it. It's fantastic for the Christmas holidays ~ I might actually wear this one on Christmas day!
Here is Hourglass Siren compared to some of my MAC lipglosses~ MAC Amorous Dazzleglass Creme, MAC Cult of Cherry lipglass & MAC Love Alert Dazzleglass :

I love it soo much. Thank you Zuneta! ♥
And as I said, I went to Hamleys to get something for my little bro (its his 6th birthday on Sunday!) and for myself. I'm not posting what I got him in case he drops by my blog ~ he's a very clever kid. He can read, write, do mental addition, play minesweeper, use photoshop, etc. Kids these days are so advanced! So I got myself the new Zelda game on the nintendo DS: The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks! My bf already has it, and he's loving it. I'm sure I will too, coz I'm a big Zelda fan!. I'm almost through with playing Chrono Trigger on the DS ~ just finishing side quests now so its good to have a game ready to play next! Haha ♥

So after Hamleys, I went to Boots and got myself some nail varnish remover. I use Cutex Nourishing Nail polish remover, and mine's about to run out. I also grabbed myself a copy of this week's LOOK magazine. Cheryl Cole's on the cover again, I think I probably have 3 other issues that have her face on the cover! She's gorgeous though so its no wonder :)
Well anyway, sorry about the long post! Hope you enjoyed it though. I'll get on to packing since I'm leaving for the Philippines tomorrow! I can't wait to see my family again ♥ ♥
